1) Brush at the gumline for at least 2 mins. morning and night
2) Floss once a day
3) Try and drink water from the city not filtered or bottled water because everyone needs fluoride.
4) Routine checkup and cleanings with your dentist (most everyone 2x/year)
For Kiddos:
1) As soon as their first tooth comes in start wiping it or brushing it
2) Do not put them to bed with juice or milk- after their last bottle for the night give them a little bit of water to wash their mouth out so the sugars are not sitting on their teeth on night
3) Give them city water not bottled water- it is very very important that children have fluoride through age 18. Every child is at risk for cavities.
4) Start taking them to the dentist at age 2- a lot will not be accomplished at this visit due to their cooperation, but just to basically get them familiar to the dentist.
5) Make brushing FUN- there are so many kid toothbrushes (especially the electric ones)- they will be asking you to brush all of the time.

Guess it's about time for my next dental cleaning. They better not tell me I need a deep clean again.
